History

The Consorts Club of the East Bay Area, Inc. was organized in February of 1956, as a social club to entertain themselves and their children. Family oriented activities included ski trips, swim parties, bowling parties and numerous other fun activities.

In 1988, the Internal Revenue Services approved the tax-exempt status for the organization under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3). 

The organization is formed for the following charitable purposes:

a. To award monetary scholarships to graduating high school seniors regardless of race, creed, gender, color, or national origin-who are motivated to pursue their education beyond high school at a community college, university or vocational school. 

b. To donate funds to other non-profit organizations whose purpose it is to assist needy individuals, provided funds are available.

As of this date, over 200 students have received scholarships from the Consorts. These scholarships range from $500 to $1,000 per student.
